A lucky Lotto ticket holder has claimed the £20million jackpot prize won in the special ‘Must Be Won’ Lotto draw on Saturday.
Camelot UK Lotteries Limited, operator of The National Lottery, has today confirmed that it has received a claim for the prize.
The claim would now go through a validation process, before the prize could be paid out.
It was not currently known whether the winner was an individual or part of a syndicate, nor where the ticket was sold.
Camelot’s Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at The National Lottery, said they were “delighted” that the £20M jackpot prize had been claimed.
“Our focus is now on supporting the ticket-holder through the process and helping them start to enjoy their truly life-changing win,” he said.
Andy added that The National Lottery team was still searching for a missing £7.4 Lotto jackpot winner from a previous draw on 18 June.
“The missing winner bought their ticket in Wolverhampton and we’re renewing our appeal for Lotto players in the area to check their tickets to be in with a chance of claiming another incredible Lotto jackpot prize,” he said.
Saturday’s winning Lotto numbers were 14, 15, 31, 41, 44, 45 and the bonus number was 20.
Lotto draws take place twice a week, on Saturdays and Wednesdays.
Most newsagents and supermarkets across the UK sell tickets from 8am to 11pm all year round.
But on draw day tickets can only be purchased up to an hour before.
The Thunderball jackpot can be worth up to £500,000, which is nothing compared to the main jackpot… but not many people would turn it down!
As well as changing the lives of the prize winners, the National Lottery funds projects all over the UK.
Since 2004, the Big Lottery Fund has distributed £9.4billion raised by the National Lottery to 130,000 “good causes” across the UK.
